Do you have any old Scottish £5 or £10 notes lurking around?
Better get them spent or exchanged asap!
Following the launch of the new polymer £5 and £10 notes by Scottish banks, the older paper versions are being removed from circulation and will disappear from use on 1 March 2018.
After the 1st, retailers can refuse to accept the old paper £5 and £10 banknotes so at some point over the next four weeks it would be worthwhile checking that piggy bank and down the back of your sofa for any stray notes.
If you find any £5 or £10 notes after the deadline has passed, don't worry. Most Scottish note issuing banks will continue to accept the old paper notes from customers.
