Food recycling bins @ Maclay

Your food bins are moving!

To make is easier for residents and to make it clearer which bins are for food waste your small grey food waste bins are being relocated soon to the bike station shed behind 17 Sandyford Street. Some residents have sadly been putting non-food items in the bins and despite frequent reminders and the bins being clearly labelled this continues to happen. Putting non-food items in the bins contaminates the bin and means all contents can no longer be recycled and it cannot be uplifted.

As a reminder what can go in the bins:

  • Dairy
  • Meat and Bones
  • Fruit / Vegetables
  • Bread, cakes and pastries
  • Rice and Pasta
  • Fish
  • Tea bags and coffee grounds

When disposing of food waste please do use a biodegradable plastic bag, these can be purchased from any major supermarket.

Should you have any queries please contact reception.

With kind regards,

Maclay Residences
