QMR Weekly Update (26 October)
This Weeks Green/Environmental Tip
Please please unplug electrical devices when you’re not using them especially phone and tablet chargers which often get left plugged in to the sockets.
A spokesperson for the Energy Saving Trust advises that any charger that is plugged in at the wall, and not switched off at the socket, will still use some electricity, even if it's not plugged into the device it is meant to charge
Free Pizza Vouchers
If you bring your student ID to reception we’ll give you a free pizza voucher for Tony Macaroni.
It’s FREEEEEE, come on down.
Just a reminder that room inspections will still be ongoing until the end of this week, so please make sure your flat is clean and tidy.
Please help us raise some money for The Scottish Poppy Appeal by coming to reception and donating what you can and wear your poppy with pride.
Worn on Remembrance Day (11 November) each year, the red poppies were among the first to flower in the devastated battlefields of northern France and Belgium in the First World War. In soldiers' folklore, the vivid red of the poppy came from the blood of their comrades soaking the ground.
Please be considerate with noise levels when exiting and entering your flats, especially late at night when other residents are maybe sleeping.
For those who are in flats with blackboards, we have chalk at reception if you want to come down and collect some.
Bikes Outwith Bikesheds
Can we please ask AGAIN that any bikes that are not currently secured in a bike shed, are put in one of the sheds asap. We don’t want any bikes attached to fences or poles. Any bikes not registered or put in a bike shed may be removed.
