Recycling @ Maclay

Maclay Residences have a bunch of recycling options available to residents, and some you may not even be aware of! 

Here is a short, non-exhaustive list of recycling facilities at Maclay Residences:

  • Unwanted items 
    In the charity bins at the main gate, please see if the charity can accept the item before putting it in.
  • Paper/cardboard 
    In the blue metal co-mingling bins at the main gate. Please lift the flap on the lid and put it through. If your item is too big please separate it into smaller pieces before putting it in the bin.
  • Batteries 
    In the site office in our charity bin
  • Used ink cartridges/old phones  
    In the site office in our charity bin
  • Unwanted change 
    In our charity bin in the office
  • Glass, including jars and bottles  
    In the small blue bins behind 11 Cooperage Place, please remember to rinse them before throwing out!
  • Clothes 
    In the charity bins at the main gate
  • Bicycles 
    The bike station on Haugh Road accepts used bikes
  • Electrical items such as TV’s 
    The many local charity shops in our area
  • DVD’s/Blu-ray/CD’s 
    In the charity bins at the main gate
  • Unwanted medicine 
    Via any local pharmacy
  • Plastic bottles 
    In the blue metal co-mingling bins at our main gate
  • Stamps 
    Via our charity bin in the site reception
  • Food Waste

    Via the food waste bins behind 17 Sandyford Street. Please use the small food bins in your kitchen and carry the food waste in a biodegradable bag down to the bins. Biodegradable bags can be purchased in any supermarket.
