Scotlands summer festivals

It's Festival Time

Whilst things may be quiet at the University, this is the perfect time to grab your festival gear, get tickets sorted and plan your summer centered around some of these great festivals, showcasing rock, folk and event performance art:

  1.  TRNSMT Festival 2017
    Following the cancellation of this years T in the Park festival, Glasgow Green plays host to the first annual TRNSMT music festival. Happening from 7-9th July this music festival will have you singing your heart out to Radiohead, Biffy Clyro and Kasabian.
  2. Eden Festival 2017
    The Eden music festival takes place from 8-11th June and is held just outside of Moffat, 1 hour south of Glasgow. Edeb Festival is a truly energetic, vibrant and independent Boutique festival showcasing fresh music and performances. Set in the stunning Raehills Meadows & hosting 12 different stages including a kids arena, circus tent, drive in cinema, comedy, cabaret & workshops, as well as a feast of performers, artworks, games & much, much more. Easily accessible by bus this smaller music festival is perfect for those looking for something more unique.
  3. Surge Street Festival 2017
    This yearly Street performance festival takes place in Merchant city from the 26th – 30th July. This festival is all about street theatre and public performances so come along for some truly unique and out of this world performances.
  4. Arran Folk Festival 2017
    Taking place in Brodick on the Isle of Arran, just an hour away from Glasgow, this folk music festival takes place on the picturesque isle of Arran from 9th – 11th June. Perfect for those of you wishing for something more traditionally Scottish!
  5. World Pipe Championships 2017
    It’s time to get your kilts dusted off for the World Pipe championships! Taking place on Glasgow Green from 11-12th August this world famous competition is all about the bagpipes and features bands from across the world competing.
  6. Edinburgh Blues & Rock festival 2017
    Edinburgh plays host to its yearly Blues and Rock festival on the 29th June. Featuring performances from Black Cat Bone amongst others this festival will have you dancing along!
