The Weekly Fire Alarm Test

By EMeyer 06 Oct 2017

Not another fire alarm!

Hi Folks,

You may have wondered why the fire alarm sounds for a few seconds every week.

Well, each week your site management team tests the fire alarm system within your accommodation and this requires us to set it off temporarily for 10-20 seconds to ensure the system activates correctly.

Do I need to evacuate the building during such tests?

Good question and the answer is no. During the weekly tests there is no need for you to evacuate the building.

Why do you need to test?

This is because we need to ensure the system works and we are also legally required to do so.

What if it's not a test?

Should the alarm ever sound for more than 20 seconds, please treat it like a fire activation and leave the building immediately.

Further Information?

As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to speak to your reception staff in your residence.

Stay safe,
Your accommodation team
