With the summer in full gear and most exams/essays over, there are some upcoming maintenance works planned at Maclay:
Monday 17th July
The next quarterly fire systems check. Access will be required to a selection of flats/rooms to carry out these checks and disruption will be minimal. This work is carried out by FPG.
Late June/early July and early to mid-August
Replacement of Gas Meters – (specific date will be displayed on office monitor). Each gas meter will be changed at the boiler within the kitchen and disruption should be minimal.
The gas supply will be turned off, the meter replaced, gas supply reinstated and tested, with the work in each flat taking approx. 50 mins. The work will be carried out by SMS plc
3rd - 7th July
All mattresses on site will be replaced with a higher spec mattress for added comfort. This work will be carried out by City Building. You will be emailed in late June with specific details but in short it would be appreciated it you will remove all bedding from your current bed, remove all trip hazards from the floor to allow a speedy removal and replacement.
11th - 13th July
All five person flats will have an additional fridge freezer installed in the kitchen. This work will be carried out by Domestic Appliance Distributors.
End of July to mid-August
The annual maintenance and safety checks for each boiler will be carried out in July and August – specific details wil be available closer to the date.
Kitchen Battery Replacement – Jamie our handyman will replace all CO2 detectors and the battery in each back up smoke detector batteries in each kitchen in August. Please check info monitor at reception for specific dates closer to August.
15th –17th August
The en-suite and kitchen fan filters will be cleaned. Access is required to each kitchen and bedroom to allow this work to progress. The work is carried out by Blitz Group.
21st – 23rd August
We plan to replace information on kitchen noticeboards in occupied flats. This work will be carried out by members of site staff and disruption will be minimal with access only required to each kitchen.
15th –17th August
All occupied flats will have their windows cleaned. Access to all rooms will be required after 9 a.m Please ensure you leave your windows closed during this work and remove all potential trip hazards from the floor and any items from the window sill.
